Al Sharqiyah:

A booby-trapped car targeted a US military patrol in Al-Jami'ah neighbourhood in western Baghdad today. One person was killed and four others wounded in the bombing.

Iraqi forces began a large-scale search-and-raid campaign in Al-Huriyah suburb, northwest of Baghdad. Local residents said Iraqi soldiers have been searching citizens' houses after besieging the suburb from all directions.

A car bomb exploded in the centre of Al-Fallujah today. Three gunmen in a car and a woman who happened to be near the scene of the blast were killed.

Unidentified gunmen today assassinated Muhammad Qasim, head of the subdistrict of Sulayman Bik in the governorate of Salah al-Din. - MIDEASTWIRE.COM, Middle East
