Al Sharqiyah TV:

Three grenades went off this morning near an Iraqi police checkpoint in Al-Tayaran square, central Baghdad, killing three workers and wounding nine others.

Gunmen shot dead a mobile-shop owner in Al-Shurta al-Rabi'ah area, western Baghdad, before making their escape.

In another development, unknown armed men assassinated high-ranking officers at Diyala Traffic Department, northeast Baghdad. Col Ahmad Abd-al-Muhsin and Sergeant Commander Taha Hamid were killed while on their way from Al-Khalis to Ba'qubah.
A bomb targeting an Iraqi military patrol in Al-Diwaniyah went off, wounding two patrol members.

Unknown gunmen assassinated a human rights activist in front of his house in Al-Diwaniyah.

A booby-trapped car went off at a petrol station in Al-Mu'tasim, northern Baghdad, killing two civilians and wounding six others.

An explosive device targeting Al-Ba'aj local municipal premises, western Mosul, went off before midday today, resulting in the serious injury of local council head Abd-al-Rahim Jasim al-Shammary and three of his guards.

US soldiers in charge of the Basra-based Bucca Prison opened fire on inmates yesterday, wounding 27, three of whom are in critical condition.

Gunmen assassinated this morning two unidentified people near Al-Rahmmah Hospital in Al-Qatun, western Ba'qubah.

Official sources said that a Kirkuk tribal chief was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Dumayz area. - MIDEASTWIRE.COM, Middle East
