Iraqi police sources say that unidentified gunmen assassinated Al-Qurnah District officer and his wife in southern Iraq. An Iraqi policeman was killed in Basra after gunmen stormed his house.

British forces camp in Maysan Governorate in southern Iraq came under attack with two mortar shells today.

Basra police located five 122mm Katyusha rockets ready to be fired at Basra refinery. This came following confessions made by one of the five suspects who were arrested earlier with 22 Katyusha rockets in their possession.

Rockets fired from an unknown location fell on areas in Basra last night, killing or wounding a number of citizens.

An explosive device blast targeted a US military column in Salah al-Din Governorate north of Baghdad yesterday evening, wounding police Col Akram Taha Yasin and another officer who happened to be at the scene. - Al Sharqiyah, Iraq
